Ziestha is a Danish label, founded by Anja Haugsbyrdt in 2005. The collection is inspired by a love of beautiful textiles and graphic design. Ziestha designs products for all occasions – for dinner, play, relaxation and bedtime. Ziestha is available from 1 year.
Plastisock is a Swedish brand founded in 2005 by Emily Willman and Malin Jarbo. Emily and Malin wanted to create a label, not restricted by the normal gender divide. They have created a wonderful palette of prints and patterns suitable for boys and girls alike.
Linda Lej is a Swedish label founded by designer Linda U Johansson. Transforming adult fashion into smart, tasteful and practical designs for children. The company is committed to child welfare and makes regular donations to the Swedish Charity BRIS(Children’s Right in Society). The collection is available from age 4. Linda Lej is available exclusively from OscarsElk in the UK for autumn / winter ‘08.
Gangstar is a Swedish brand with attitude. Founded by 2 Mums (Tove and Teresa) who realised after having their own children that the children’s wear market was very limited and mainly confined to colourful garments with busy prints. Gangstar however, is street wear for cool kids, combining good fit and great quality. Gangstar is available from 0-6 years.
Ubang Snakketoj’s (or Babble Chat) unique Danish design offers Ecotex certified children’s clothes and accessories that are both attractive and practical. The essence of the design is theatre and playfulness. Socks and t-shirts transform into animal puppets and secret friends. The design stimulates the child’s senses and imagination and encourages them to play.
Moccis is a Swedish brand that offers Swedish made moccasins with lovely design; A must have for every crawler and walker. No more slipping and sliding indoors. Here is the brilliant sock shoe that actually stays on whilst letting your child’s feet develop naturally. Moccis are machine washable and available from 6 months to 3 years.
Melanies Masker is a Danish brand whose exclusive designs are born out of “Yarn Mania”. Every design adheres to Melanies Masker’s philosophy: No creation without a quirky detail. Crocheted or knitted. A mix of materials brings new ideas to life. The collection is available from 1-6 years.
Millou is a Danish label and consists of the design team Camilla and Anne-Louise. The clothes are made to the highest quality and have a distinctively hand made look and feel. The collection is available from 1-6 years and is exclusive to OscarsElk in the UK for autumn / winter ’08.
Mio my Mio is a Danish label whose collections include wonderfully coloured clothing with fabulous prints and amazing details. The pieces also provide high quality materials with a comfortable fit. For boys the style is cool, but also a bit cheeky. The girls’ collection is unmistakably feminine but with a twist. The collection is available from 2 years.
Christina Rohde began designing her first children’s range in 1991. The overall emphasis of her designs is on practical, beautiful yet fashionable designs. Most of the designs feature an elastic waist rather than a zip, allowing children to easily dress themselves. All of the fabric is sourced from the EU and include many Liberty prints of which some are exclusive to Christina Rohde. Most of the clothes are manufactured within the EU although some are manufactured in Asia, where particular attention is paid to the manufacturing workforce’s conditions, wages and workplace safety. Christina Rohde’s designs are available from ages1 year upwards.
Mini a ture is a Danish children’s wear label, launched in 2001 by sisters Kathrine and Frederikke Hviid. Focussing on designing clothes that transcend Danish borders. That is, clothes that are international in their look and are fundamentally hard wearing and above all designed with children in mind. Mini a ture also stands for honesty, quality and responsibility – and is committed to showing support for a sustainable world – this means using organic cotton and bamboo fibres wherever possible and actively supporting the Sunway Children’s home in Bodh Gaya, Northern India.
Nanoou is a Danish chldren’s clothing label, established in 2005 by former architect Caroline Glit-Jensen. The nucleus of Nanoou is textile design and they offer unique and thoroughly thought out design with emphasis on the cut of the clothes, simple expression and quality materials. They love clear and clean lines, which children can immediately relate to. The patterns include simple shapes, which are some of the first recognised by infants. They work exclusively with organic cotton and most of the clothes are Ecotex 100 certified.
Moonkids is a Swedish company who believe in high quality when it comes to materials and sewing as well as design. They try to obtain a pure almost timeless design. All garments are made in Europe, which has 2 distinct advantages. By producing their clothes close to most of their retailers transportation distances are kept low, which means that the environmental impact is kept to a minimum and they can also guarantee that no child labour is used during the production process.
Freoli is an increasingly popular brand created by the Lysgaard sisters in 1999. The clothes have their very own style. Combining a mixture of nostalgia and coolness with a special focus on gorgeous and striking colours and patterns. Boy’s clothes are adventurous and fun and offer plenty of room to move and play. Freoli has made sure that kids can be well dressed when the outside is calling and the autumn / winter ’08 collection includes rainwear and outerwear.
